French cosmetics group Albéa opens new plant in China

Albéa Group sees big again !

Albéa is one of the world’s largest companies of beauty and personal care packaging. They are affiliated with the U.S. company Sun Capital Partners Inc. and operate in 38 plants worldwide with a workforce of 16,600 employees and generate global sales of 1.1 billion euros.

They boast leadership in a lot of different sectors including plastic, tubes, mascaras, lipsticks, and others. They also have expertise in fragrance, skincare dispensing pumps, lotion caps, lipgloss, promotional items, and accessories.

A new factory for Albéa ?

To boost its presence in China, the French group Albéa decide to launch a new plant in Suzhou. Starting from the beginning of the month, the company will invest about 10.3 million euros in this new packaging plant.

The firms headquarter is situated in The Gennevilliers nearby Paris and the facility they just bought in Suzhou is about 30,000 square meters. It will be the only location they have that will take care of the whole expertise. From tubes to cosmetic rigid packaging, each in a different building.

This project’s target was « built to a challenging 15-month schedule to optimize Albéa’s industrial footprint in China following its acquisition of Rexam Personal Care in January 2013 ». It is an automated factory of 800 employees that integrates decoration and assembly capabilities.

The company already has 2 sales offices in China and benefits from a total of 4 factories in the country (located in Zhongshan, Shenzhen, and Shanghai). Each of them is a center of excellence for a particular packaging and the one in Suzhou is better in mascara, including brushes, and dispensing systems.
